For
The Sake Of The Song
Everything
is changing
I don’t recognize
The people and the places that I have before my eyes
Even in the mirror, is it a disguise?
I never look the way I feel, it’s always a surprise
What
has become of the world where I used to belong?
It all seemed so easy, at first, and I thought I was strong
But it all went by so fast; maybe I stayed too long
Remember when we used to sing for the sake of the song?
I remember when we used to sing for the sake of the song
Everything
is moving
I can’t seem to find
A place where time stands still, it seems I’m always left behind
If I sit a while, to watch the clock unwind
I lose the precious hours that are landmarks of the mind
What
has become of the world where I used to belong?
It all seemed so easy, at first, and I thought I was strong
But it all went by so fast; maybe I stayed too long
Remember when we used to sing for the sake of the song?
I remember when we used to sing for the sake of the song
Everything
is fading
I can’t seem to touch
The very things that used to make me feel so very much
Can I stand? Can I walk without a crutch
And make my way through daydreams that I never knew, as such?
What
has become of the world where I used to belong?
It all seemed so easy, at first, and I thought I was strong
But it all went by so fast; maybe I stayed too long
Remember when we used to sing for the sake of the song?
I remember when we used to sing for the sake of the song
